Honeymoon, Day 4

View Day 4 slideshowIt rained all night last night and cooled down into the upper 40’s.  After a huge, wonderful, cooked-to-order breakfast at the Woodstock Inn (included with the room), we spent the entire day exploring the White Mountains.

Honeymoon, Day 3

View Day 3 slideshow(by Grace) We left Portsmouth first thing in the morning, heading northwest towards Salisbury, NH in hopes of locating Samuel Lovrien, David’s Revolutionary War ancestor.   The drive was scenic as we began entering the foothills of the White Mountains.

Honeymoon, Day 2

View Day 2 slideshow (by Grace) Portsmouth, NH:  Today we thought we would take a whale watch excursion, so we began by checking out local sites on the web.  Our guide book said the season went to October… and it does, but it appears just to Columbus Day.  We did locate a place near Bath, ME that said it’s last tour was today, so we headed off in that direction.  We called them when we reached Portland and learned they decided Sunday was the last day.  So, we hung around Portland.We located a narrow gauge railway still in operation.  Volunteers restore old cars and engines, and run them down a short piece of track for tourists.  The track runs along Back Bay, so we had nice scenery to look at.
